We started this program in secret back in the summer of 2007 to serve the economically challenged children of West Coconut Grove Florida. Miraculously we have been able to keep it going with no budget or donations for the past three years. What we do is collect unwanted or broken skate equipment, refurbish it and give it away to any local skater who knocks on our door and asks for help. We have been blessed that none of our skaters have ever had to go more than one day without wood to push. Besides supplying decks, wheels, hardware, grip and trucks; we have also served our community by launching a West Grove skate team, hosting free mini camps, organizing canned food drives for local area homeless and funding skate trips for kids who otherwise would never have skated outside the neighborhood.
We do this not only because we love seeing kids get stoked on skateboarding; but we have been able to witness first hand the positive impact this non-sport has had on many a lost youth.
